Backpack Buddies Helping Local Kids in Need
Backpack Buddies serves children in our area who are on free or reduced lunch programs and have been identified as “in need” by school guidance counselors. These children run the risk of having little to no food to eat over the weekends and school holidays. Backpack Buddies, an effort coordinated by local church and other charitable groups, collects healthy snacks and ready made meals to send home with these students. Bags filled with healthy food are discreetly distributed on weekends and before holidays to ensure these kids get enough food for a healthy, active lifestyle.
