Petition to Rename the Broome High School Football Field for Randy Anderson

There is a petition to request that Spartanburg School District 3 rename the football field contained within Royal Stadium in memory of Randy Anderson. The people signing this petition believe Mr. Anderson’s life should be celebrated in this manner to recognize his contributions to the district community. Randy would have been able to list several people that he thought deserved this honor more and that is part of the reason we feel he was so deserving. We feel his humility and concern for the students of District 3 need to be recognized by renaming the field in his memory.
We appreciate everyone who signed the petition and/or helped spread the word. Unfortunately, we’ve learned it is District 3 policy to wait a minimum of three years before naming any part of the school after someone.
